Air-source heat pumps. These pumps extract heat from the air outside to produce warmer air. The advantage of using these pumps is that they have low maintenance requirements that allow you to save a huge amount of money. Despite the minimal maintenance costs, the quality that these pumps provide are of the same quality that other expensive pumps can offer. If you are considering using this pump, do not forget to provide proper ventilation for your heat pump. Confining carbon dioxide in a room can cause a wide range of health hazards. It may also cause explosions when in contact with flammable materials.

Geothermal heat pumps. These types utilize natural heat from the ground. Such technique is not just energy-efficient, it also lessens operational expenses. Geothermal heat pumps are probably the most natural approach that you can use in your central heating system. The energy that it absorbs from the ground is a combination of solar and ground power. The front up price may be hefty as compared to the other pumps but the savings that you can generate in the future can cover up the initial costs. Aside from that, geothermal pumps have a life span of 25 years.

Gas-Fired Heat Pumps. These types are relatively new. They eliminate the electrical usage by utilizing oil or gas to operate machines. These pumps are not common to households but are widely used in commercial establishments considering the savings that it can offer. These pumps are also environment friendly. They are manufactured with less carbon monoxide emissions as compared to other pumps.

Heat Pump Water Heaters. This type use energy to sustain operation. Many opt for heat pump water heaters because they are more energy-efficient as compared to other types. However, if you want to use this type, your space should have a room temperature of 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit and at least 28.3 cubic meters of space.
